If you happen to have music playing in the background already, and a website blasts you with its own music uninvited, then it can be awful to hear, and is more likely to result in the web page being closed.
However, using a Flash player instead means that you can provide your visitors with the option of playing the music, altering the volume, stopping, pausing or even changing the track. This is ideal as it combines the benefits of being able to show what you have to offer, in a far more media appropriate way, whilst still providing the choice and control to the visitor, which is where both choice and control should always be.
